ATO Presents its Data Approach at the Road Safety Capacity-Building Program Webinar Series

On March 25,2025, ATO presented at the second instalment of the webinar series entitled "Road Safety Capacity-Building Program Webinar Series" being organized by the Asia Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the CAREC Program. The session entitled "Data in Action" focused on showcasing complementary data and resources to the Global Status Report on Road Safety 2023 that can aid in road safety planning and implementation.

Mel Eden, policy analyst for the Asian Transport Observatory, introduced the newly released ATO Road Safety Profiles, highlighting the data approach of ATO, and how these complement WHO's Global Status Report on Road Safety and WHO's road safety profiles. His presentation emphasized the features that distinguish ATO from other data initiatives. He also underscored the critical role of data in enhancing road safety and the value of tools like road safety profiles in identifying gaps among countries.

The meeting brought together more than 160 participants online. Notable presenters included Soames Jobb, CEO and Principal of Global Road Safety Solutions, and Sattya Boran, Deputy Director of the Department of Road Traffic Safety in Cambodia and the session was moderated by Jessica Truong of Lösningar.
