Volunteer Opportunities

Open Call for Research and Communication Volunteers

Background

The Asian Transport Outlook (ATO) invites applications for internships from qualified and motivated individuals who are interested in supporting efforts to advance sustainable, low-carbon transport in Asia and the Pacific.

Volunteer internships with ATO provide an opportunity to contribute to ongoing work in research, policy analysis, data management, and the development of visual and communication materials. This is a voluntary, unpaid internship designed for students and professionals— though it is open to all interested individuals who wish to gain experience in —as well as to contribute to—sustainable transport knowledge building in Asia-Pacific.

  • Creation of charts, maps, infographics, and other visual materials
  • Drafting and editing content for technical publications and digital platforms

  • Strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with data tools (e.g. Excel, R, Python, GIS, Tableau) or visual communication platforms (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc.) is desirable
  • Ability to work independently—and cooperate within a team— in a remote work environment.
