On January 22, 2026, the Asian Transport Observatory (ATO) delivered a technical presentation at pManifold’s office in Nagpur, introducing the team to ATO's scope, data architecture, and relevance for transport planning and policy analysis.

Delivered by Adwait Limaye, the presentation outlined ATO's multidimensional framework spanning infrastructure, access and connectivity, road safety, air pollution and health, climate change, socio-economic impacts, and transport policy. Through selected examples, the presentation demonstrated how ATO enables data validation and benchmarking across countries and cities, and showcased its databases, thematic profiles, and interactive visualization tools. Key insights were also shared on e-mobility, energy use, and transport decarbonization, highlighting the rapid growth of electric two- and three-wheelers in Asia, regional disparities in EV uptake, and the importance of clean electricity for achieving emissions reductions. The session concluded with a walkthrough of the ATO website, illustrating how these resources can support analytical and project-level work.
