The Asian Transport Observatory (ATO), in partnership with the Society of Transport Engineers Nepal (SOTEN) and the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), officially launched the Transport in Review: Nepal during an event held on 23 March in Kathmandu.

The event convened representatives from the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT), the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), along with other government agencies, academic institutions, and national experts. The gathering provided a platform to present key findings from the report and to exchange views on Nepal’s evolving transport landscape, including infrastructure development, accessibility, sustainability, and policy directions.

The report reflects a collaborative effort under the Memorandum of Understanding between ATO and SOTEN, aimed at strengthening the evidence base for transport planning and policy in Nepal. By combining data-driven analysis with local expertise, the Transport in Review series supports more informed decision-making and fosters dialogue across institutions working toward a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable transport system.
