The Asian Transport Observatory, the presentation of the Pacific Transport Data Observatory and Knowledge Exchange Platform through a live demonstration session for Pacific stakeholders, organized by the World Bank.

The platform was developed to help address persistent transport data gaps in Pacific Island Countries, where limited and fragmented information can constrain evidence-based planning, investment decisions, and policy development. By organizing transport datasets for the region, the platform aims to support more informed decisions on sustainable, accessible, and low-carbon transport.

The session showcased the platform's key features and practical use cases, including how it can support research, scenario analysis, planning, and evidence-based decision-making. It also provided an opportunity for universities and regional stakeholders to discuss how the platform can be used and further strengthened through collaboration.

Beyond the live demonstration, the session encouraged feedback from participants to guide the platform’s continued development and ensure that it remains responsive to the needs of Pacific countries. The engagement also highlighted the importance of partnerships between development institutions, universities, and regional organizations in sustaining transport data systems and turning data into actionable knowledge.
