ATO was represented by Sudhir Gota, Co-Team Lead of ATO at the "Roads and Bridges Week" held in Beijing on November 4-5, 2024. Sudhir presented the various relevant knowledge products of the ATO to more than 50 AIIB staff and stakeholders from South and Southeast Asia. His presentation (5th of November) highlighted how data and policy information from the ATO can be leveraged by MDBs and implementing agencies to improve policy development and impact tracking in the road and bridges sector. The event, including technical sessions and site visits, showcases the latest smart solutions and innovative methods from leading industry suppliers, operating companies, and technical experts for road and bridge construction and operations. The technical sessions will be conducted in Beijing and the site visits in different locations across China.
Presentations were also delivered to AIIB's Sustainability and Fiduciary Solutions Team and the Climate Division. These presentations to about 40 AIIB staff collectively focused on the ATO's comprehensive assessment of the Asian transport sector's contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement. Sudhir emphasized the crucial link between transport, environment, and climate, and how the ATO's insights can support informed policymaking and investment planning for a more sustainable and low-carbon transport future in Asia.
