On the sidelines of the 16th High-Level Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum, the Asian Transport Observatory (ATO) proudly unveils its annual—2024— SDG and transport update knowledge product, "Asian Transport and the SDGs: A Multidimensional Sustainability Challenge". This third edition offers a comprehensive review of progress toward transport-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across 51 economies in Asia and the Pacific, integrating 32 indicators and data from 2000 to 2023.

The report underscores the critical role of the transport sector in achieving global sustainability agendas, including the SDGs, Paris Agreement, the upcoming UN Decade of Action for Sustainable Transport, and the Aichi 2030 Declaration. The report consolidates 32 indicators from both official and reputable non-official sources to assess progress across 51 economies. It provides context by comparing regional trends with global benchmarks and contrasts the transport sector's performance against other sectors in Asia-Pacific economies.
