Speed Index (Uncongested) [TAS-UDB-080(1)]
Index of the speed of private motorized vehicle in the absence of traffic in 2019, log scale, with average at zero. If city A has a value 0.2 more than city B's, then city A is exp(0.2)=1.22 times faster than city B in the absence of traffic. Index is like a price index, in the sense of being based on comparable trips across cities.

Road Connectivity Index [ACC-NRC-004]
This Index, developed by the World Economic Forum, comprises two elements: (1) a measure of the average speed of a driving itinerary connecting the 10 or more largest cities in an economy accounting for at least 15% of the economy’s total population; and (2) a measure of road straightness. The itinerary was not optimized and connects the cities from the largest to the smallest. Any leg involving a ferry was excluded from the average speed calculation. As a first step to the identification of cities to include in the itinerary, pairwise distances (“as the crow flies”) were calculated, and when the distance was less than 20 kilometres, the smallest city in the pair was excluded. The road straightness corresponds to the ratio of the sum of driving distances between each city in the journey to the sum of crow-fly distances between each city in the journey.

UNEP E-Mobility Readiness Index [MIS-GRC-014]
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) created a rating system to measure how prepared developing countries (global south) are for electric vehicles (EVs). This E-Mobility Readiness Index considers four equally weighted dimensions: Technology & Market, Policy, Energy, and Finance. Each dimension has five indicators, resulting in a total of 20. The indicators are scored quantitatively and qualitatively, ranging from 0 to 5. These scores contribute to a final E-Mobility Readiness Index from 0 to 100. The index reflects a country's preparedness for the shift to EVs by evaluating factors like supply chain, consumer demand, charging infrastructure, and stakeholder involvement. An ATO analysis using this index with updated 2024 data revealed significant disparities among Asian countries regarding income levels, vehicle ownership and markets, energy sectors, transportation infrastructure, and policy environments.
